Not so sure about rarest per se, but the most expensive and most popular are (and this is in no specific order) Wintergreen Bow, Dryad Bow, and Silverwing Recurve Bow.

Q8 Storm or Zodiac with 15%^50.....because they are non-inscr.

Other then those Dryad and Silverwing, but EOTN has been out long enough for several of those to drop now.

OK. first off. Dead bows and Zodiac bows are extremely common. The OP is asking about bow skins and not what low req. common skinned bows are rare (You might as well add a longbow with 15% unconditional if you are going for expensive common skins ).

As for rare skins, Id agree with Eronia with Wintergreen. Dryad and Silverwing. Personally, I'd also add Drago's Flatbow to the list. The non-Vamp version is about the only green ingame that is worth more than 1-5K because it is such a sought after skin, but no one seems to be farming them any more.

and while mentioning green bows you might also add Bow of the Kinslayer and Bow of the Hierophant to the list.

For a bow to be rare, it can't be green or farmable from a specific spot. Kinslayers, Hierophants, Drago's bows, silverwings, and dryads are not worth pursuing if you're looking for rare.

Oh, and wintergreens are just silly. They're only bows in the most literal sense (in the same way that ogre slaying knives are swords). Not worth considering.

If you want something that's rare, look for something that: 1) not many people own, and 2) cannot be easily farmed.

Otherwise, you're only looking for trendy, not rare.

Why cant Green items be rare? Try going to Spamadan and buying a non-Vamp Drago's flatbow and see how long you need compared to wanting a Dead bow skin (Probably actually just as long, souly because most players would merch Dead Bows as soon as they get close to a merchant).

As I wrote, the OP is asking about rare bow skins and not what stats are rare on some random common skin.

I meintioned Dragos bow, because there is no dropable bow with the same skin from any other source other than one boss in one area and players hardly ever go into Sorrows Furnace any more (making the bow rare from underfarming as opposed to not being available). The Heirophant, Kinslayer bows are overfarmed atm because so many players are running or speedclearing the respective EotN Dungeons.

This is easy to see if you try to sell the mentioned bows in Kamadain which is also a pretty good indication of how rare/sought after an item is.

Drago's non-vamp would net you 80K in seconds to sell
Kinslayer or Heirophants maybe 15K each if you are verry, verry lucky.

Going after that, the Wintergreen Skins are therefore rare as well considering they are bows (even in the sence that you wrote they are not real bows) but they can not be farmed or crafted any more.

Greens are farmable. If you want Drago's bow, go kill Drago. Not rare.

Rushin, in your last post, you mentioned something about how "rare/sought after" something is. Those two are not the same thing. This confusion is the reason why you're doing such a bad job answering the original question.

The original question was about the rarest bows. In your first post, you agreed with Eronia about wintergreens, dryads, and silverwings. Take another look at Eronia's post. I've bolded the important part for you:

Quote:

Eronia took this thread off-topic by discussing popular bows in a thread that was supposed to be about rare bows. You're continuing this by treating rare and sought after as if those are the same things. They are not.

Please refer to my previous post for reasons why nothing green can be considered rare. There are numbered reasons there.

Actually, the original question was about the rarest skins.

Dryad Bows and Silverwing Bows sport much rarer skins than any Dead Bow, indeed.

Off course particular items - like q8 OS weapons - are much harder to find (so, those are rare items), but still, that's not what's being asked here.

The title of this thread is:

What are the rarest bows?

Anyway, dryads and silverwings aren't rare. There is an unlimited supply of them and Google and tell you exactly where to go if you want one for yourself.

I'd argue that no green or other dungeon prize (which is what silverwings, dryads, and all the greens are) can qualify as rare.

Perhaps the OP would like to clarify his question.

You've qualified 'rare' pedantically and fundamentally wrong. In Guild Wars a rare item is one with a distinctly lower chance of being received as a drop/whatever than other, not purely quantities of supply (Wintergreen weapons aside everything is obtainable it's just a question of time and means).

Rare and most sought after are intrinsically linked (seeing as Anet decided to make a lot of decent looking skins also the hardest to obtain), if people actually sought after say a Dead Bow instead of Silverwings then the farming would shift to suit that. But because they have a much higher drop rate they wouldn't be considered rare any more, whilst even with farming efforts directed at the current most sought after items sees them in a still limited supply.

Why is this an argument. The question in the original post is what is the rarest bow SKIN SKIN SKIN SKIN SKIN SKIN SKIN. In this case the best answer is indeed wintergreen, silverwing, and dryad. End of story and there is no argument. The wintergreen was only available for a short time and the other too have the lowest drop rate for the particular SKIN. This is not a question of bow in general, while that may have been the title, it was a mere shortening of the actual question what is the rarest bow SKIN. There is no need to argue about something as stupid as this when the simple answer was posted first.

Speaking quantity-in-game-wise rarity:

For the gold bow skins; I'd say Wintergreen, they are obtainable only by trade now, thus there is limited quantity of them left in game.
For the green bows; I'd say Bearer's Longbow, Elswyth's Longbow or Unique Bows from Sorrow's Furnace, those particular Bosses are in the areas hard to get, and not so popular (seriously, how many people do Sorrow's, ToPK and exploration/farming in Domain of Pain nowdays??)

This gave me lulz. In Guild Wars, just like everywhere else, rare means one thing (and one thing only): People don't have it and people can't get it. If something was rare at one point in time and then lots of them started appearing, then that thing is no longer rare. Srsly.

This simple fact eliminates dryads and silverwings. Once upon a time, they were rare. No longer. They were farmed out of rarity. There are certain items that are farmproof. No matter how much people try, they cannot successfully farm them. This class of truly rare items includes things like gold max req 8 dwarven hammers and swamp clubs. Gold max req 8 15^50 dead bows are as close as bows get to being truly rare.

If we are going to talk about rarity in the simplistic way that you would like to talk about it then I agree: Wintergreen bows are rarer than Dead bows, but then the answer to the question you all would like to answer is the Ithas bow (or something like that).

Silverwing and Dryad. They can be obtained in Kamadan in trade like pretty much anything can. But in terms of a rare dungeon/chest "drop", I think those are the top two.

Krompdown, please start reading the threads and not only the thread titles you post in and then try again... now it is my turn to bold the OP for your understanding.

Dead bows are common as dirt.

Dead bow req.8
dead bow (common skin)
req. 8 (uncommon attribute)

Therefore in terms of the OP, dead bow skins (still drop from countless foes in uninscribable and inscribable form) are more common than Drago's bow (Rare drop from only one Foe which may or may not spawn in one of many locations). The same goes for Silverwing or Dryad. The skins only drop in very limited locations (or from only 1 chest for the Dryad). They are deffinitely more common than a r8 Dead bow as such, but the skins are a lot rarer than a dead bow skin.

Q8 15^50 Naga Shortbow has my vote.

Dryad and Silverwing are not that rare. Just wanted
